RaPTr SetUp and Troubleshooting FAQs:

Q:  Where do I access the barcode scan data?

A: Enter “localhost:5100” into the web browser to pull up the web-based dashboard. If you are trying to access the web dashboard from a browser that is not on the same machine where the RaPTr Server is installed, enter the IP of the Server address in place of “localhost”. You can also retrieve scanned lists through C:\\Artemis\Logs on the RaPTr Server, and images through C:\\Artemis\Images.

Q:  The image displayed on the monitor is a bit dark– can I adjust that?

A: There are a couple ways to adjust the brightness. One is on the camera lens by adjusting the Aperture ring to allow more light into the camera itself. This will be at the expense of the Depth of Field (distance between pallet and camera where barcode is in focus). Another way is to add more light to the area where the barcodes are being read.

Q:  There is no CD that comes with the unit – what software needs to be downloaded?

A: Purchase of a single evaluation unit comes with scanner and server software pre-installed. For networked solutions, install the server software on a machine of your choice. Refer to pages 3-6 of the Interfaces & Architectures guide which walks through installing the RaPTr server with screenshots. The system requires no ongoing software updates.

Q:  How do I filter out other barcodes that don’t need to be read?

A: In the configuration screen (press F5 or click RaPTr logo at top), click the Barcode tab at top and enter the desired Barcode RegEx Filter – for more information on this refer to page 11 of the SetUp Guide.

Q:  Why is the image displayed on the monitor upside down?

A: By default, we pre-configure units so that the images are right side up, but in the event you replace your camera lens or it got missed in our configuration, you can change this yourself. In the configuration screen (press F5 or click RaPTr logo at top), click Configure and click Camera tab at top. Click the Configure tab below the image. Set Rotation value to either 90 or -90 as needed.
